Pisa® Retaining Wall Systems

Pisa 2®    Roman Pisa®      Stack Stone®      Roman Stack Stone®

The PISA® Retaining Wall Systems offer the flexibility of design and the natural appearance that architects, engineers, contractors and homeowners are looking for.  PISA® retaining walls are the ideal way to handle grade changes in any landscaping or gardening project as well as increase the amount of useable space for patios, terraces and parking.  PISA® walls are easy to install, require little maintenance and last a lifetime. PISA® walls are environmental safe, because they are manufactured from natural aggregates and contain no toxic chemicals.

PISA® retaining wall is a dry stacked wall system.  No mortar or mechanical fasteners are required to hold the units in place.  The PISA® Retaining Wall System utilizes its unit weight and shape to resists lateral earth pressure.  The patented offset continuous tongue and groove allows for a solid interlock throughout the wall face, while providing a uniform connection with geogrid.  The PISA® retaining wall system can be used effectively for gravity wall structures up to a maximum of 4 feet.  For greater wall heights and applications, PISA® together with a geogrid soil reinforcement is required.

PISA® can be used to create landscape structures like straight or curved walls, corners, steps, terraces or planters. Structural walls can easily be constructed by incorporating layers of geosynthetic reinforcement into the wall's construction.

A level compacted crushed stone bed is the first step to ensure the performance of the system.  A reinforced concrete footing is not required.  The first course of blocks are simply placed on the crushed stone and leveled.  The modular PISA® retaining wall is flexible and adjusts to follow the natural contours of the landscape.  If the earth moves a small amount due to settling or extreme temperature changes, the wall will retain its structural integrity.
